There are a number of vacancies for young members to attend various conferences on behalf of the NYMF which are open to young members from the relevant groups who wish to attend with an NYMF member who has already been elected: 

LGBT conference – 13 – 15 November in Brighton (1 general vacancy)

Black Members conference – 22 – 24 January 2016 in Llandudno (1 vacancy for a woman)

Community service group conference – 26 – 28 February 2016 (1 vacancy for a woman)

Higher Education service group conference – 24 – 25 February 2016 – Southport (1 general vacancy)

Water, Environment and Transport service group conference – 19 June 2016 – Brighton (1 vacancy for a woman)

Energy service group conference – 20 June 2016 – Brighton (1 general vacancy)

This is a good development opportunity for a young member which will give a good insight into how UNISON decision-making works at a high level.

If you qualify as a young member and wish to contend for one of these vacant places (you must be under 27 years of age on the last day of the relevant conference)  please email unisonadministrator@shu.ac.uk by noon Thursday 11th September.

This is an opportunity for one person for each conference, not one person per region. Where more than one nomination is received, the decision will be made by the NYMF Chair.
